Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Bangkok | Thursday, February 21st |

Plan your trip to arrive in Bangkok on this day (this means you will need to leave the US a day prior). Please make sure you purchase your ticket to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK is airport code). We will stay at a hotel near the airport, which we will let you know in advance. Please change some money at the airport, then take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Make sure you ask them to turn on the meter, otherwise they will charge you the foreigner price. We will meet at the hotel and go out for dinner at a local Thai restaurant, where we will have a tour briefing.

Day 2 – Bangkok ~ Hua Hin | Friday, February 22nd |

After breakfast, we drive 3 hours down the coast to Hua Hin. We have a relaxing afternoon enjoying the beach and recovering from the long journey with a Thai massage. In the evening, we visit True Arena (the facility where the international tournament is being held) for a cocktail reception before going out to dinner with players in the tournament.

Day 3 – Hua Hin International Pickleball Tournament | Saturday, February 23rd |

Today is the mixed doubles day of the Hua Hin International Pickleball Tournament. Enjoy playing in the tournament, lunch at True Arena and mingling/playing with people from around Asia. After cleaning up, we go out to dinner at Hua Hin’s night bazaar.

Day 4 – Hua Hin International Pickleball Tournament | Sunday, February 24th |

Today is the men’s and women’s doubles day of the Hua Hin International Pickleball Tournament. Enjoy playing in the tournament, lunch at True Arena and mingling/playing with people from around Asia. After cleaning up, we go out to dinner with everyone from the tournament.

Day 5 – Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park | Monday, February 25th |

Today we drive about 1 hour for an all-day tour of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Say that 10 times fast! The park’s name means “mountain with 300 peaks” but also features caves and Thailand’s largest wetland where we will see a variety of animal, bird and tree species. After returning to Hua Hin, you will be free for dinner.

Day 6 – Hua Hin ~ Chiang Mai | Tuesday, February 26th |

We fly this morning direct from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai, in the Northern part of Thailand. After checking into the hotel, we will go out for our first pickleball clinic just with our group, taught by Jennifer and Daniel. In the evening, we have a short tour of the Chiang Mai’s old town and have dinner in a restaurant near our hotel.

Day 7 – Pickleball Trips Clinic and Cooking Class in Chiang May | Wednesday, February 27th |

This morning we have our second private pickleball clinic just with our group. We will start early today because for a late lunch, we will go outside Chiang Mai for an organic Thai cooking class, where you learn to make Thai food from the locals. On the way back, we have a Buddhist Temple tour to learn about the culture, before returning to the hotel. Tonight, you are free again for dinner but there are plenty of options in Chiang Mai.

Day 8 – Pickleball, Scorpion Trail Tour and Night Market | Thursday, February 28th |

Today we play pickleball with members of the Chiang Mai Pickleball Club, all very enthusiastic players. We go out with them for lunch. In the afternoon, we go on the 1.5-hour Scorpion Trail boat tour of the city, where we see gardens and historical sites. In the evening, we go out to Chiang Mai’s famous night market for a huge variety of food.

Day 9 – Pickleball Trips Clinic and Elephant Sanctuary | Friday, March 1st |

This morning we have our third and final private pickleball clinic just with our group, with instruction from Jennifer and Daniel. In the afternoon, we visit an elephant sanctuary outside of Chiang Mai, that is working to protect and reintroduce elephants into the wild. Please note that we will not be riding any elephants and will not support any elephant sanctuary that allows you to do so. Our final thank you dinner is at an upscale Thai restaurant in the city, followed by drinks if everyone is up for it.

Day 10 – Chiang Mai ~ Onward Destination | Saturday, March 2nd |

We fly together back to Bangkok’s to Suvarnabhumi Airport by noon, where you will need have purchased your onward flight from. Please let us know if you need help going somewhere else in Thailand or Southeast Asia after the pickleball trip.

*You will likely have to depart North America the previous day to arrive in Bangkok on February 21st.

Includes

  • 9 nights at 4-star accommodations with complimentary breakfasts

  • Airfare to/from New Bangkok International Airport (BKK)

Packing List

Attire & Equipment

  • Clothing – Pack for 5 days of pickleball and 10 days total* (laundry can be done at hotels for an additional cost)
    • One pair of pants and a light jacket may be a good idea for the evenings
    • A windbreaker or waterproof jacket in case of rain
    • Cool, but semi-dressy clothes (nothing will be too dressy, but we will go out for some nicer dinners)
  • Paddle – Don’t forget your weapon!
  • Shoes – At least one pair for pickleball, one pair of comfortable walking shoes, and sandals (0r something for the beach)
  • Protection from the Sun – Hat, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, etc.

* Although we will be visiting in the cool season, Thailand is always very warm so please pack accordingly

Additional Items

  • Passport – Please make sure it does not expire within 6 months of our trip and that you have at least one blank page available for your Visa stamp
    • We also recommend bringing a photocopy of your passport in case the original is lost or stolen
  • Credit Card Many businesses in Thailand will accept major cc’s (although there may be an international transaction fee)
  • Cash – For the places that don’t, we recommend bringing at least $200 ~ $300 per person (or the Thai Baht equivalent) for dinner at the market, souvenirs, etc.
  • Debit Card – Along with your PIN number for cash withdrawals in case you run out
  • Important Documents – We recommend having a copy of your passport, travel insurance, and medical insurance policies
  • Camera – Don’t forget your charger or extra batteries as well
  • Toiletries – Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, nail clippers, and whatever else you need!
  • Medication – Please inform us beforehand if there is anything we should know in regards to your medications

Travel Insurance

We strongly encourage all travelers to invest in travel insurance to both minimize your financial risks of traveling and provide you with peace of mind to fully enjoy the your trip. Travel insurance can provide many helpful resources including refunds or assistance for any of the following situations that may arise before or during a trip:

  • You need to cancel your participation on the tour
  • You need to cancel or change a flight
  • Lost baggage during the trip
  • Stolen items during the trip
  • Medical costs during the trip

Cancellation Policy

  • 60 ~ 31 Days Prior to Arrival: 20% of the Total Costs
  • 30 ~ 4 Days Prior to Arrival: 50% of the Total Costs
  • 72 Hours or Less Prior to Arrival: 100% of the Total Costs
